This privacy statement covers the site https://www.litsoftware.com (the “Site”) and the LIT SUITE® family of unique and proprietary legal software applications, including but not limited to TrialPad®, TranscriptPad®, DocReviewPad®, ExhibitsPad®, TimelinePad®, and any applications added to the LIT SUITE® (the “Service” or “Licensed Software”). LIT SOFTWARE LLC ("us", "we", or "our") operates the Site and Licensed Software, and is the sole owner of any information collected therefrom.
INFORMATION COLLECTION & USE
In certain instances, we collect personally identifiable information from our users at several different points on our website and in the Licensed Software. This statement informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our Service, and the choices you have associated with that data. We use your data to provide and improve the Service. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this statement. Unless otherwise defined in this statement, the terms used herein have the same meanings as in our Terms & Conditions, and, as applicable, the Standard End User License Agreement and the Enterprise Program End User License Agreement, the current versions of which are available at http://www.litsoftware.com/legal.
DEFINITIONS
Service: the website and LIT SUITE family of applications developed and operated by LIT SOFTWARE LLC.
Personal Data: data about a living individual, who can be identified from such data (or from those and other information either in our possession or likely to come into our possession).
Usage Data: data collected automatically, either generated by the use of the Service, or from the Service infrastructure itself (for example, the duration of a page visit).
Cookies: small text files stored on your device when you view content on the Site or the Service.
Data Controller: the natural or legal person who (either alone or jointly or in common with other persons) determines the purposes for which and the manner in which any personal information is, or will be processed. For the purpose of this Privacy Policy, we are a Data Controller of your Personal Data.

Firebase: another analytics service provided by Google, Inc.
SUBSCRIPTION
LIT SUITE is a subscription-based service. We may ask you to provide personally identifiable information required to fulfill your request for service.
SURVEYS
From time to time we may provide you the opportunity to participate in surveys or provide feedback. If you participate, we will request certain personally identifiable information from you. Participation is completely voluntary, and you therefore have a choice whether or not to disclose the requested information, which typically includes contact information, and your use of the Service. USES OF INFORMATION
LIT SOFTWARE LLC uses the collected information for the purposes of understanding our users’ geographic and demographic distribution, to improve and modify our products to better meet our user’s needs, and to enable effective communication with our customers.

Newsletters
If you wish to subscribe to our newsletter(s), we will use your name and email address to send the newsletter to you.
Service-related Announcements
We will send you service-related announcements on rare occasions when it is necessary to do so. For instance, if our service is temporarily suspended for maintenance, we might send you an email (if it was provided to us). You may opt-out of receiving email notifications from us any time, using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email message.
From time to time, we may also send you in-app notifications, which will appear as a message within one or more of the Licensed Software. These notifications will be primarily related to updates, tutorials, and similar resources intended to improve your use of the Service. Generally, you may not opt-out of in-app communications, which are not promotional in nature.
Aggregate Information (non-personally identifiable)
We may share aggregated demographic information about our user base with third parties. This information does not identify individual users. We do not link aggregate user data with personally identifiable information.

Retention of Data
LIT SOFTWARE LLC will retain your Personal Data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use your Personal Data to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations (for example, if we are required to retain your data to comply with applicable laws), resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies.
LIT SOFTWARE LLC will also retain Usage Data for internal analysis purposes. Usage Data is generally retained for a shorter period of time, except when this data is used to strengthen the security, to improve the functionality of our Service, or we are legally obligated to retain this data for longer periods. To revoke consent to Personal Data processing and/or request that your account be deleted, use the Delete Account option within the apps.
Transfer of Data
Your information, including Personal Data, may be transferred to and maintained on computers located outside of your state, province, country, or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ from those of your jurisdiction.
If you are located outside United States and choose to provide information to us, please note that we transfer the data, including Personal Data, to the United States, and process it there.

We may use third-party Service Providers to monitor and analyze the use of our Service.

Google Analytics is a web analytics service offered by Google that tracks and reports website traffic. Google uses the data collected to track and monitor the use of our Service. This data is shared with other Google services. Google may use the collected data to contextualize and personalize the ads of its own advertising network.

PAYMENTS
We may provide paid products and/or services within the Service. In that case, we use third-party services for payment processing (e.g., payment processors).
These payment processors adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of payment information.

This Site and the Licensed Software may contain links to third-party sites that are not owned or controlled by us. Please be aware that LIT SOFTWARE LLC is not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
LIT SOFTWARE LLC does not knowingly collect, either online or offline, personal information from persons under the age of thirteen. If you are under 18, you may use the Site and/or Service only with the express permission of your parent or legal guardian. If you are a parent or guardian of a minor child less than 18 years old and you are aware that they have provided us with Personal Data, please contact us immediately at support@litsoftware.com. If we become aware that we have unwittingly collected Personal Data from a minor child less than 18 years old, without appropriate consent, we will take necessary steps to remove that information from our servers.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy at https://www.litsoftware.com/legal. By continuing to access or use the website and/or Licensed Software after any revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms. If you do not agree to be bound by the new terms, your sole remedy is to discontinue using the website, and/or permanently delete the Licensed Software from your device(s).
