TimelinePad Beta Software Program

Beta testing new software is fast-paced and technically challenging, and because of the speed of development, we will not be able to respond to questions or provide technical support to users of the beta apps during the beta testing process. Please see the information below on how to provide beta feedback.

If any of the information below seems overwhelming, or you need any clarification, you may not be an ideal candidate to be a beta tester and should wait for the released versions of the apps to become available.

What is the LIT SUITE Beta Software Program?

The LIT SUITE Beta Software Program lets users try out pre-release versions of our apps using an Apple service called TestFlight. Any feedback you provide on quality and usability helps us identify issues, fix them, and make the software even better for you. Please note that when using beta software you may encounter bugs, crashes, or incomplete features, and the app may not function as expected. Be sure to back up your iPad before installing beta software. Install the beta software only on non-production devices that are not business-critical.

What is TestFlight?

TestFlight is a service from Apple which allows users to install, test, and provide feedback on pre-release software. Through the TestFlight process, we can receive reports of crashes you experience, and you can provide feedback on any issues you come across, or suggestions you want to share.

Who can participate in the beta testing?

The LIT SUITE Beta Software Program is for existing subscribers to the LIT SUITE apps and is governed by our End User License Agreement https://www.litsoftware.com/legal. It is not intended for the general public or users of the legacy versions of the apps.

What are the hardware and software requirements?

To test the TimelinePad beta, you will need to have an iPad running iPadOS 18.1 or later, and an Apple ID already associated with an active subscription to the LIT SUITE. The TimelinePad beta is available for iPad only, and is not available for testing on Mac.

How do I get the public betas?

You will need to install TestFlight on your iPad to be able to download and install the beta versions of TimelinePad. In the TestFlight process, you are technically enrolling your Apple ID, not a specific device. Details on TestFlight and how to install it on your iPad can be found here: https://testflight.apple.com

How do I download the app?

TestFlight is required to download and test the beta versions of TimelinePad. Once you have TestFlight installed on your iPad, you can download the TimelinePad beta using this link: https://testflight.apple.com/join/njcn26hJ

Will there be ongoing updates to the TimelinePad beta app?

Yes, we will be releasing regular updates to TimelinePad and each update can be downloaded using the TestFlight app. In the TestFlight Settings you can choose to receive Automatic Updates, or get notifications (Push or Email) when updates are available.

Do I have to pay a fee to join the program or pay for software?

No, existing customers of the LIT SUITE iPad apps can download and use the beta version of TimelinePad for free. After the beta program, when the apps are officially released, they will be included in the LIT SUITE subscription at no additional cost.

What kind of compensation do I receive for testing?

This program is voluntary, and there is no compensation for your participation.

How do I leave the LIT SUITE Beta Software Program?

Open the TestFlight app and select TimelinePad. At the bottom of the app's detail page, press the Stop Testing button to opt out of future betas for this app. You can then delete the app from your iPad.

Will I be charged for the beta if I try to subscribe?

If you try to subscribe to the LIT SUITE during the beta testing process you will receive a message that you will not be charged.

How do I provide feedback?

While testing a beta version of TimelinePad you can use TestFlight to send us feedback about issues you experience, or make suggestions for improvements, by tapping on the Send Feedback button inside TestFlight. If you experience a crash while testing TimelinePad you’ll receive an alert asking you to send crash details directly to the development team through TestFlight.

Can you respond to feedback or questions?

We appreciate any feedback you provide, but please note that we cannot respond to your feedback or answer any questions submitted using the Send Feedback button. Also, our regular technical support team at support@litsoftware.com will not be able to receive any feedback, answer questions, or provide support for the TimelinePad beta app.
